Assistant Chief of Support Services

Assistant Chief William Hodges leads the Support Services Division of the Paducah Police Department. The Support Services Division performs both proactive and reactive duties that serve to deter, prevent, reduce, and solve criminal activity within the City of Paducah. It is comprised of the Records and Evidence Unit, the General Investigations Unit, and the Drug and Vice Enforcement Unit.

Assistant Chief Hodges began his law enforcement career with the Paducah Police Department in 2009. He was appointed to Captain in January 2022 and Assistant Chief in 2025. Before his appointment to Assistant Chief, he served and supervised in all divisions of the department as a Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, and Captain. He has also served as a member of the Digital Forensics Unit and as a Crisis Negotiator for the department.

Assistant Chief Hodges attended Murray State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in the area of Telecommunications Systems Management. He is a graduate of the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Academy of Police Supervision’s Class 77. He also has attended and received multiple certifications from the National Computer Forensics Institute. He was named the Paducah Police Department’s Employee of the Year for 2017.

Assistant Chief Hodges stays active in the community through involvement with various youth sports programs. He was a member of Leadership Paducah Class #36 and serves as the law enforcement liaison with West Kentucky Crime Stoppers. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a past vice-president of the Paducah Police Collective Bargaining Unit. In his free time, Captain Hodges enjoys traveling with his family.
